4 Ways to Fuel Employees This Winter with Office Food

Brrr…it’s cold out there. Along with low temperatures (and snow for many parts of the country), winter can bring sniffling noses, sluggishness, and added stress to the office. Here are four ways related to office food to keep cold weather culprits at bay and help your employees stay healthy, happy, and productive this winter.

Serve Immune Boosting Food in the Office
Washing hands, and using hand sanitizers are excellent ways to prevent the spread of germs, but why not add a little extra flu-fighting punch to your company’s food program? To boost immunity, incorporate Vitamin A rich foods such as carrots, squash, and sweet potatoes, and Vitamin C power foods including bell peppers, dark leafy greens, broccoli, and citrus fruits to your corporate food menus.

It is also important to keep hydrated during the winter when cold weather can cause many to decrease their fluid intake. Add low-sugar vitamin water or sparkling water to your drink menu. Another great way to keep employees warm, healthy, and hydrated is to serve broth-based soups, in particular, the classic chicken soup.

Support Employee Resolutions
Many of your employees are getting ready to set New Year’s resolutions, including losing weight or improving their health. Such goals can be difficult to stick with when tempted by calorie-laden foods in the office. Swap out those candy dishes and cookie trays for healthier alternatives, such as fresh fruit or trail mix.
